NO ONE really knows where the Etruscans actually from. People say they were HURRIANS, they were GREEKS or HITTITES. But they looked nothing like these peoples, who were ARYAN historically that far back in history. So jokingly (SLIGHT HUMOUR) - perhaps the ETRUSCANS originated from ARCTURUS - perhaps they were "aliens", LOL!!!!

Seriously though, ALL knowledge concerning any connections between ETRUSCANS, ETRURIA and ARCTURUS seem to be heavily edited and censored on the Internet. Does anyone here know of such connections - either religious, spiritual, cultural or historical????

It certainly didn't begin as a Trojan colony that's for sure :^)

I bring this up because I know that even the "Latins" were a distinct language group from the original language of the Romans themselves - so was that language Etruscan which evolved into Latin through assimilation/contact with the Latin tribes of the area?

The Etruscans called themselves Rasna or Rasenna.
Archaeological evidence overwelmingly suggests that Etruscan society developed out of the preceding societies of Etruria, although the linguistic evidence has frequently been cited as pointing to exotic origins. Virtually all the languages of Europe share a number of common word stems that indicate that they belong to a family of related languages, termed 'Indo-European'.
Etruscan, however, along with Basque, Hungarian and Finnish is not part of this family.

For example, in Indo European languages the numbers one, two, three are recoognizable: uno, due, tre; ein, zwei, drei; un, deux, trois.

In Etruscan: thu, zal, ci.

Moreover, the Etruscan language is unrelated to any other language spoken in Italy such as Umbrain, Oscan, or Latin.
The only known similarity is with a dialect that was being spoken on the Island of Lemmos in the Northern Aegean, (according to inscriptions dated to the second half of the 6th Century BC) which in turn was different from all the other languages being spoken in Greece at that time.

The problem of Etruscan Origins is encapsulated in the peculiarity of the language.

Etruscan Mythology - Their Trinity

Any modern discussion of Etruscan mythology will have to be based on the publication of the Praenestine cistae: some two dozen fascicles of the Corpus Speculorum Etruscorum have now appeared. Specifically Etruscan mythological and cult figures appear in the Lexicon Iconographicum Mythologiae Classicae. Etruscan inscriptions have recently been given a more authoritative presentation by Helmut Rix, Etruskische Texte.

The primary trinity included Tinia, Uni and Menrva.

In Etruscan mythology, Menrva was the goddess of wisdom, war, art, schools and commerce. She was the Etruscan counterpart to Athena and Minerva from Greek and Roman mythology, respectively. Like Athena, Menrva was born from the head of her father, Tinia. Menrva, Tinia and Uni were part of a triumvirate.

In Etruscan mythology, Tinia was the highest god of the skies, husband to Thalna or Uni.

He was part of the powerful triumvirate of gods, including Menrva and Uni. He was associated with lightning, spears and scepters.

With Uni, he was the father of Hercle.

Tinia was the equivalent of the Roman Jupiter and the Greek Zeus.

In Etruscan mythology, Uni was the supreme goddess of the pantheon. She was the patron goddess of Perugia as well.

With her husband Tinia and Menrva, she was part of a powerful triumvirate.

With Tinia, she was the mother of Hercle.

Uni was the Etruscan equivalent of Juno and Hera in Roman mythology and Greek mythology, respectively.

One of the things that led me to my interest in Roman Mythology is what the Roman's "borrowed" from the Etruscan's.

"The use of the primitive Etruscan style suggests a time so ancient as to be inseparable from nature.

The extensive service of Sevres porcelain created for the dairy remains among the most elegant and sophisticated ever made. Pleasure dairies were usually equipped with tin-glazed earthenware, Chinese export porcelain, or, more rarely, Paris porcelain such as the set made by Andre Jean Marie LeBoeuf for Marie Antoinette's Petit Trianon. [21] The Rambouillet service (see Pls. XIV XV, XVII) is the only dairy service made by Sevres in the eighteenth century. Atypically for the factory, none of the objects are gilded. All but the jattes teton (breast bowls) are of hard-paste porcelain with Etruscan decoration that emphasizes the white body of the porcelain itself. "
